If you’re planning an offsite ceremony, it’s a perfect opportunity to exchange your wedding vows instead of a plain “I do.” Wedding vows are one of the most beautiful moments of any wedding. I consider the recitation of vows to be the most sincere and romantic part of the celebration, because the words spoken at that moment come straight from the heart—they are genuine and exactly what should be said on that day.

About Wedding Vows

The most touching moment of any offsite ceremony is the exchange of vows. No matter what shows or fireworks you include on your wedding day, nothing is more emotional than this moment. These are the words that the main characters of the celebration speak with genuine excitement and sincerity! In my work, I always stick to this principle — the couple’s speech during the ceremony is practically essential.

Many people are intimidated by the idea of writing personal words to each other; expressing your feelings in writing is never easy. So, how do you create a meaningful text? The most important — even if it sounds obvious — rule is sincerity! When you set yourself in a romantic mood, revisiting your messages and favorite photos, take a sheet of paper and a pen, and use my little cheat sheet!

About Wedding Vows

Vow Plan:

Start with your declaration. Share your feelings — why and how deeply you love your partner. You can describe the moment you first realized your love or highlight what makes your relationship unique.

Next, make your promises. Your vows can be profound or lighthearted. Mention little traditions or rituals you share and promise to keep them. This is also a good moment to thank your partner for the small and big joys in your relationship.

Finish concisely. End with a short, meaningful line expressing your desire to spend many years together. Say that you want to be their wife/husband.

About Wedding Vows

The sequence, of course, can be flexible. Even if you follow this plan, feel free to take your vow in a different direction — and that’s perfectly fine! The best part of reciting your vows is expressing your true feelings. A professional off-site officiant can usually help polish the final text, making your words concise and beautiful.
